The front cover again uses a large photograph but in this case it is not directly related to the subject, but rather takes inspiration seemingly from the Olympic games, with an image of racing cyclists. There is a jagged colourful 'thunderbolt' descending from the top right-hand corner which again is like Wolff Olins' designs for the London Olympics. This is a very different approach from the NHS reports, and is more eye-catching.
The interior pages feature many images of athletes that tie in slightly with the headings of each page, but confuse the nature of the report and don't seem to link in with housing at all. Maybe this is not a problem if you are a member as you would know the source of the report but for an outside observer it confuses the point of the document.
This is my favourite page of the report, a double-page infographic that cleverly and cleanly conveys the data needed. I really like this style of design, and appreciate the simplicity used here which is improved by the bright colours that have been used all the way through. In my eyes, this is a far better way of displaying complicated information than the tables used in the AOHN Annual Report and much easier on the eye.
This report is very much a mixed bag, with only the colourful palette pulling it all together, featuring large athletic photographs, very wordy pages and simple infographics, but I will take inspiration from certain areas.
