The next spread shows data about Health, Young People and Crime and Community Safety. The parts of the information that they required to be shown graphically were outlined in the content, but I felt that there were other areas that I could apply the style to.
For example, in the first paragraph on the Health section there were elements that I felt I could demonstrate in a more pictorial way to increase interest, and chose to create a stylised map of England, showing that the AoHN wards feature highly in terms of health deprivation. I also designed the page like this to add continuity as the half-page column style had been used previously in the report and has since been applied to most pages with a similar introductory paragraph.
Below this, I started to depict the required graphical elements, and continued with the bespoke infographics to suit the data, in this case using a heart with a heart rate to help visually explain. Although I do have the rest of the information that I need for this section, I struggled to find a different and interesting way to visualise the data and instead left room and moved onto the next page.
Again, the section for Young People had an introductory paragraph, but it did not feature any statistical information. Instead, I decided to depict some of the features of the text with small icons and this allowed me to bring it in line with the style of the report.
I introduced the same style to the introductory paragraph for the Crime and Community Safety section, and produced iconography for the data, with handcuffs representing crime and spray cans for vandalism. However, I feel I still need to tweak the layout of this page somehow as it looks too cluttered in some areas and bare in others.
