This section of the magazine features full-page photographs of action from football games, highlighting the biggest or strangest moments. They utilise a simple, iconographic logo with a football in the centre of a camera shutter which clearly demonstrates the purpose and is clean and attractive.
Again, this section features its own logo and again it draws from signage style design with a simple silhouette of a footballer in the counter of the 'O' in the word 'Front', and creates continuity with the other logos for sections in the magazine. They both have a very bold look about them due to the strong shapes and use of blocks of colour.
There is also a section in the magazine profiling a particular footballer in a light-hearted way, and backs up the information given with simple and humorous iconography. In this case there is a hazard warning sign playing on the footballer's name, and a silhouetted pregnant woman, and the colours and typography used here are also bold and striking, using a simple palette of light blue and black.
I feel that this shows how effectively this style of design can be used in print and I will definitely look to include it in my work. I am now at the point where I can start to really work on this project and create some prototypes using the text supplied for the publication.
